This is a quick review for a bottle I was sent by the wonderful people at Water-to-go!
With the ridiculous amount of plastic polluting the little world we live in; floating around in the sea and disrupting and killing marine life as well as getting into our water system and food cycles. I’m a weee bit sick off seeing plastic bottles and disposable plastic still so readily available ( click here to find out more about the environmental impact plastic is having).
This water bottle has blown my mind! It’s filter system is able to filter out 99.9% of microbiological contaminants including: bacteria, viruses, protozoa, cysts, chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals & bad taste and odour! So you can fill up water virtually anywhere you are and safely drink it (minus salt water!)
How it works:
There are thee different technologies in the ‘Water-to-go’ filtration system:
1. Mechanical filtration; a very small pore size which stops contaminants passion through.
2.Electrical (by a positive charge) which reduces the pore size even further and attracts contaminants (like a magnet and trapping them inside the filter
3. The filters use activated carbon but instead of using adhesives to glue the carbon particales together (which vastly resduces the carbon's efficiency) it's contained withint the membrane, helping to reduce contaminants whilst eliminating bad tastes and odcours.
So if you’re a keen outdoor-er, globe trotter or if you're just eco and waste conscious this is a perfect bottle for you! You can seriously cut down on the amount of plastic waste you create, reducing your
environmental disruption/ impact when you’re away from home as well on a daily basis. Not only this ,but you'll be cutting down on the amount of money you're spending on plastic water bottles whilst utilising our natural water resources! Plus you'll be happy to know it's BPA free (BPA is a chemical compound found in many single-use water bottles!!)
I’m so excited about this bottle!
I was beginning to worry about traveling abroad to places where your can’t safely drink tap water without getting sick and this has fully put a stop to my worries! No need to purchase multiple plastic water bottles, instead just take one reusable ‘Water-to-go’ bottle with you and you’re sorted for an endless (within reason) supply of water! Better still, the inside water filter is fully recyclable. The casing and end caps can go in your plastic recycling (check local recycling). The grey membrane can then go on your compost heap and biodegrade. To see how click here.
With these technologies readily available you’ll be happy to know that ‘Water-to-go’ are in partnership with a large number of campaigning charities! Such as The Hunger Project, Malaria No More, The African Wildlife Foundation, the Travel Foundation Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Child Aid Gambia!
Great news hey?!
Water-to-Go come in a range of different colours to choose from too ! Wahoo! So go on make a eco conscious purchase and get yourself a ‘Water-to-go’ bottle!
